Casual firing waiver
We take care of the entire firing process, and the kiln is only to be operated by its owners. All you need to do is drop it off and pick it up. Our schedule is casual and flexible. Firings can usually take place 2 – 3 days after drop off, but in the case of a delay we’ll be in touch to give a timeframe.
To try and prevent cracks occurring, all of our firings begin with a low and slow approach to ensure the clay is completely dry before ramping up the temp.
While all due care is taken with each firing, we cannot accept responsibility for any explosions in the kiln. There are many variables along the way that may result in breakage, colour inconsistencies, etc. which can be caused during the creation of the ceramics (and out of our control). Because of this we can’t guarantee that the
end result will be exactly as expected.
For glaze firings, all pieces must have no glaze on the bottom, to ensure they don’t stick to the kiln shelf during the firing process. If any damage is caused to the kiln during the firing process, you may be liable for the cost of repairs.
